Dear Parents:
Here's news to read!
- Formspring : Message from our school psychologist, Mrs.Meredith Klatt
- Reminder regarding Thursday.
FORMSPRING:
We wanted to inform you that we’ve learned that many HKMS students are using Formspring (http://www.formspring.me) a social networking site with significant destructive potential. When students create a Formspring account they invite an anonymous audience to give them feedback about their social status. No password or identification is required – anyone can post an anonymous message about anyone else.
We encourage you to start a conversation with your child about Formspring. Seek his/her opinion about it and ask how they and their friends use it. Help them to understand how anonymous postings allow people to spread rumors and make hateful comments without taking any responsibility for their words. Encourage them to alert an adult if they see a threatening or aggressive posting about themselves or another HKMS student.
A parent coffee will be held on Monday, May 5th at 9:30 to discuss more about how to address relational aggression with your child. Stay tuned for further details.

DATE: Just a reminder that Thursday, April 8th is an early release day for staff development. Students will leave HKMS at 12:10 p.m.
Sincerely,
Joan Parker
