Dear Parents:
I hope you enjoyed a wonderful week with your children. As we start the final quarter, here's News To Know:

Engineering and Innovation Lab: The Easton Learning Foundation is proud to announce that they received a total of $2,250 during the week of April 11-17 from two corporations: Sun Products Corporation and Aquarian Water Co. Thanks to these companies for their generous support of ELF's efforts to bring innovation to Easton students!
- ELF still needs to raise $27,000 by May 31st to meet the Engineering and Innovation Lab goal. If met, HKMS will be able to partner with Project Lead The Way , a national organization that provides science, technology, engineering and math classes for middle school students. We believe that injecting these classes into our curriculum will develop our students' passion for these fields.
- Thank you to all who have already contributed to this effort! For those who wish to help, you can do so by participating in the 2nd ELF Annual Trivia Bee on May 20th at SSES from 7:00 -9:00 p.m. You can organize a team (of adults high school age and older), sponsor a teacher team ($300) or place an ad in the BEE program.

Paul Pfeffer (Manager of online content at the Connecticut Public Broadcasting Network) is seeking a competitive Pepsi Refresh Project Grant to expand its media education program by creating a pilot program of satellite Media Labs for grades 6-8 within three of Connecticut's middle schools.
HKMS has been chosen to participate in the final round of the application process!!!Mr. Pfeffer. is coming this Tuesday to videotape students and staff as we try to convince him to select HKMS as the finalist due to our students' eagerness to learn television production skills and journalistic ethics. If your child is interested in participating in Tuesday's taping session, encourage him/her to see Mr. Marusa or Mrs. Weinshel on Monday!!!We need to share creative ideas and be enthusiastic! Please discuss this opportunity with your child. It would be amazing if we won this award.
